NextG Leonis

Deal advice from an operator who has run the business.

NextG Leonis combines M&A advisory, value creation and interim management for renewable energy and high tech, with senior experience from McKinsey and from the boardroom.

M&A advisory Value creation Interim management

Leo, the lion. Three stars to steer by.

Consultant and COO

Strategy at McKinsey, then operations on the board of a technology company.

Engineer by training

A PhD in geosciences and a background in large hydropower projects. We understand the asset, not just the model.

Advice plus execution

The person who advises on the deal can also lead the integration that follows.

Three ways we work with you

Use one or combine them. Many clients start with a transaction and keep us for the integration.

M&A advisory

We advise owners, founders and investors on sales, acquisitions, partnerships and funding rounds, with a clear view of what the underlying business is really worth.

What it covers

  • Sell-side and buy-side advice
  • Due diligence, commercial and technical
  • Funding rounds and investor preparation
  • Target screening and partnership structuring

When to call us

  • You are preparing a sale or a funding round
  • You are screening acquisition targets
  • You want an operator's view of an asset

Experience includes six buy-side and sell-side due diligences in energy and manufacturing, and a funding round closed 20 to 40% above benchmark valuations.

Value creation

We help owners and investors grow what they hold: a sharper strategy, a leaner operation and a plan that survives contact with reality, including after a merger.

What it covers

  • Post-merger integration and synergy delivery
  • Strategy, portfolio and R&D prioritisation
  • Cost, procurement and operational improvement
  • Pricing and commercial growth

When to call us

  • A deal has closed and the plan must now be delivered
  • Margins or growth have stalled
  • You want to be exit-ready before buyers ask

Experience includes a telecom merger with over EUR 800m of synergy value identified, and a post-merger mining transformation that lifted throughput by 18% a year.

Interim management

An experienced leader, in place quickly for a defined period. We take responsibility for results, build the team's capability and hand over cleanly.

What it covers

  • Interim COO, head of development or programme director
  • Integration management offices
  • Transformation and turnaround leadership
  • Capability building and handover

When to call us

  • A key role is vacant or a leader is leaving
  • A critical programme needs senior ownership
  • Your team needs support through a transition

Experience includes interim head of development for a renewables developer, and COO of a 120-person technology company operating in two countries.

Where we focus

Two sectors, driven by the same forces: capital, technology and the pace of change.

Renewable energy

From hydropower project delivery to growth strategy and funding for developers, a sector we know from the inside.

  • Wind, solar and hydropower developers
  • Development pipelines, funding rounds and valuation
  • Turbine supply, offtake and strategic partnerships
  • Strategy for utilities and energy companies in transition

High tech

Technology-led companies where engineering, R&D and the commercial plan have to work as one.

  • Nuclear, aerospace and industrial technology
  • R&D portfolio and product maturity (TRL 3 to 8)
  • Telecom and digital infrastructure integrations
  • Scaling founder-led and investor-backed companies

Selected experience

A few results from our work. Clients are not named, and figures are rounded.

Value creation
EUR 800m+

synergy value identified over ten years

Post-merger integration of two telecom operators

Led the integration management office for a combined business with more than EUR 1bn in revenue, working with a private equity owner and a cross-functional team.

Interim management and M&A
3x

company valuation in nine months

Interim head of development at a renewables developer

Built a pipeline above 1.5 GW, prepared and ran a funding round priced 20 to 40% above benchmarks, and secured turbine supply and long-term offtake partnerships.

Operations and growth
~20%

annual revenue growth

COO of a nuclear and aerospace technology company

Ran operations across two countries and 120 people. Reset the strategy, delivered over EUR 2m in annual savings and moved products from early prototype to market readiness.

Value creation
+18%

throughput, year on year

Post-merger transformation of a mining company

Led the programme from idea generation to implementation, partly on site, and prepared the processing plant to double its throughput.

Further work includes strategy for an industrial gases company that identified two new value pools, and technical due diligence of a 150 MW hydropower plant.

How an engagement runs

Clear stages, one accountable person and no surprises in fees or timing.

Listen

A first conversation, free and confidential. We tell you honestly whether and how we can help.

Plan

Scope, timeline and fees agreed in writing before work starts.

Deliver

We lead from the front: the process, the negotiation or the programme.

Hand over

We transfer knowledge and ownership, then leave you stronger and independent.

Confidential by default

Sensitive situations stay between the parties involved. Names are never shared without consent.

Aligned incentives

Fee structures tied to outcomes wherever that makes sense for the client.

An operator's judgement

Advice tested against how businesses actually run, not only how models look.

Small by design

One senior person, supported by a trusted network of specialists when a mandate needs them.
